On July 1, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze met with Zhou Qian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Georgia.
According to the Government Administration, the parties discussed the current agenda of Georgia-China relations and prospects for future cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the transition of bilateral ties to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership, which, according to the parties, creates new opportunities for deepening political, trade and economic, and transit links.
The discussion also addressed the results already achieved within the framework of the strategic partnership. The Prime Minister highlighted the Chinese ambassador’s personal contribution to the development of Georgian-Chinese relations and thanked him for his cooperation.
Maka Botchorishvili Discusses Cooperation with China on Imedis Kvira

According to Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, China is a significant player in today’s world, and it is in Georgia’s interest to maintain good relations and well-developed ties with Beijing.
Speaking about Georgia-China relations on the program Imedis Kvira on July 5, Botchorishvili noted that Tbilisi does not view cooperation with Beijing as a choice between partners. She said it is important for Georgia to develop partnership relations in various directions, especially with global actors.
The Foreign Minister also emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties. She said Georgia is interested in deepening cooperation toward the East, including by developing its partnership with China.
Botchorishvili assessed that Georgia-China relations have recently entered a new stage, which will help further strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.
Ceremony Marks Completion of Chinese Language Course at Azerbaijan’s National Defense University

On July 1, a ceremony marking the completion of a Chinese language course was held at the Foreign Languages Center of the Military Management Institute of Azerbaijan’s National Defense University in Baku.
The event was attended by China’s military attache in Azerbaijan, Colonel Song Jun, as well as representatives of the Confucius Institute at Baku State University.
At the ceremony, Song Jun underscored the importance of cooperation between Azerbaijan and China in military education and language training. He said such training programs help deepen institutional ties between the two countries, improve professional communication, and promote knowledge of the Chinese language in the military education sector.
Azerbaijan Customs Delegation Pays Working Visit to China

On July 2, a delegation of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee paid a working visit to China. The visit aimed to strengthen cooperation in the customs sector and study China’s experience in digital customs technologies, artificial intelligence, and smart border management systems.
During the visit, Azerbaijani representatives met with officials from China’s customs administration. The parties discussed the development of digital customs, modern risk management mechanisms, the integration of artificial intelligence into customs procedures, improved information exchange, and the possible use of “smart customs” systems.
The meetings also focused on the potential of the Middle Corridor, through which Azerbaijan plays an important role in transit and logistics links between China and Europe. At the event, the Tajik delegation introduced Chinese partners to the country’s tourist destinations, cultural heritage, and examples of traditional craftsmanship.
The Tajik side also invited Chinese partners to the Dushanbe International Tourism Exhibition, which will be held on September 24-26, 2026.
Chinese Ambassador Publishes Article on New Stage in Relations with Tajikistan

On July 1, China’s ambassador to Tajikistan, Guo Zhijun, published an article in which he discussed the importance of further developing Tajikistan-China relations.
In the publication, the ambassador focused on Tajik President Emomali Rahmon’s visit to China in May 2026 and the signing, during that visit, of the Treaty on Eternal Friendship, Good-Neighborliness and Cooperation.
