Investigative Journalism: TV1: Problems of the Georgian Government contacts with Chinese Companies

Civic IDEA, together with the TV Pirveli channel has led the joint investigation concerning the Sino-Georgian relations and the corrupt dealings between the ruling party leaders and the Chinese companies operating in Georgia. The reportage was broadcasted on June 6th, it focused on a particular case of the Chinese company Sinohydro and its claims worth 37 million GEL against the Georgian government regarding the unaccomplished highway.

The one-week workshop on “Protracted Conflicts: Current Challenges and Future Perspectives in the Caucasus” in Berlin, August 10 – 15, 2020

The workshop, which is the heart of the project will bring together 20 young scholars, graduates, advanced students and civil society activists from all over the Caucasus and international experts in the field of conflict studies and peacebuilding. The gathering is a combination of a small conference, training, and regional exchange. During the workshop, the participants can present their research and practical experience on issues related to the topic and receive feedback from their peers and international experts. Furthermore, participants will receive training on vital skills like academic writing, advocacy or scenario-building.

We will also produce the joint print and online publication “Corridors-Proceedings Vol. II”

Thanks to the generous funding of the German Federal Office (#CivilSocietyCooperation), we can cover the project related costs, including travel, accommodation, full board, and excursions.
